Story Board - what they are showing and why ....

The pictures above are images that show the storyboard of our children's opening sequence. They are simple shots of our scenes that show an outline of our final piece.
Working from the bottom of the page to the top, we open with someone holding a sheet that tells the viewer the name of our production and the people within our film. The second shot shows a young boy riding his bike, the small diagram of a ‘music note’ will be put in when editing our piece. We wanted to incorporate a childlike element so by adding drawings of music notes we felt this would help – the idea came from ‘ The story of Tracy beaker’ a popular children’s t.v programme.
Next we have a shot of the boy on the fall, with his bike next to him, telling the audience that he has fallen off and is currently unconscious. The next shot is a zoom up/ crash zoom of the face of the child… this is followed by a point of view shot.
We have a shot of the little boy next to a gate, with a man holding a key in our next shot which leads back to a point of view shot – showing the boy coming out of his dream….
Shot 11 and 12 are showing the boy waking up from his daze after his fall. He realises that he has a key in his pocket and goes on a quest to find where the key leads him…Shot 13 shows him biking around, frame14 shows the viewer that he has found the gate and shot 15 shows his flashbacks’ ….the image of him standing next to the gate with the man.
The last couple of drawings show him walking up to the gate, wondering where it will lead to , then the camera stop just as he opens the door.

End
