Analysis of childs sequences (Monsters Inc)





In the opening credits of 'Monsters Inc', it shows firstly the companies credits 'Walt Disney Pixar'. This shows who are the producers of the film are. Also there are many doors in the opening part- with monsters going through them which represents the story board of the film. It represents the childhood fear of something hidden behind a closed door. In addition, the film instantly shows that it's a children's film by the use of colours and animation. The first scene is where a child is being put into bed by his parents when a monster come out from within the closet.

From watching this first sequence we can tell that Monsters inc is a comedy, animated adventure film that was directed by Pete Doctor. We can tell that this film is a comedy animated adventure because of the opening credits "walt disney", associated with childrens film, which are given rating of U or PG. Also with the title of the film "Monsters INC", it is written in cartoon letters which shows its intented for a younger audience.
